I can see both sides. I benefit solely from low-ticket affiliate commissions, but rake in enough to see an upside to pushing forward in this manner. I may choose to break off and look at another website for high-ticket commissions, when I am feeling confident in my selling practice.
In my experience, high-ticket items are hard to push because of the big price tags. Consumers don’t get on the internet and look to spend a $1000 within a 30 minute research period. It takes several visits back to a website prior to the commitment on the buyers side, which makes sense. Not many people have that cash to throw around unless they really trust the website. This can make for difficult, long and even frustrating wait periods for affiliate marketers.
Although, if you’re experienced within affiliate marketing, and have a reasonable sense of the purchasing cycle, you can deliver articles and reviews that give your consumers the confidence to shop with you when they make that $1000 purchase.
