When starting out, there are lots of fears you will have to overcome in order to build the blog that you’ve always dreamed about. But fear not! The following eight tips can help you conquer those fears and start building your own successful blogging business today.
Take note before getting started!
It is common for people who want to become bloggers to assume they need a degree or certification from an institute, but this may not be true at all times. Most blogs require little more than a computer with internet access, so if you’ve got both things then congratulations–it’s time to get started on building your empire!
At the end of the day, no one ever wants to fail. However, failure is a part of life, and it happens all too often for most people. According to statistics provided by Forbes Magazine, around 90% of businesses close within their first year, so if this statistic includes your business, then you are definitely not alone! In order to overcome this fear that many new bloggers have about failing in blogging, don’t be afraid – just follow these simple steps:
Find out if blogging is the best thing for you. You may not be a fan of writing, but love speaking to your audiences. Rather than writing a blog maybe you should look into vlogging. There are many ways you can make passive income with videos, such as creating a YouTube channel.
Study the actions of those that came before you. If you’re still interested in blogging, then study what those who are in the same industry as you. They can be your industry’s thought leaders or even those who are just a little more experienced than you are. Take the time to examine their pitfalls and mistakes or the advice that they may give. For instance, I advise my readers about the hard work and dedication that they have to put into creating a profitable blog.
Measure the benefits and reasons for starting a blog. No one is the same, so ensure that you understand that blogging is one of the best ways for you to reach your specific goals. For example, I enjoy writing and I write for many clients to grow their online business. I also have a passion for learning about the best ways to creating an online income. Therefore, I know that blogging is the ideal method for achieving my goals of earning an online income and marketing my skills.
Last, just jump in! If you’re not entirely sure about blogging, you can always start a blog for about $100 or less. That way, you won’t sink too much money into an online business that you don’t love. Plus, by just starting, you can hone your skills and learn from your mistakes.
The world is constantly changing, and it’s important for a blogger to stay updated. This fear of what if my blog doesn’t work out can be overcome by staying aware of the trends in your niche.
You may also want to consider using social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter to discuss your latest ideas with others who are interested in blogging.
This is so that you can gain insight into whether they agree with what you think about certain topics related to blogging. By taking advantage of these opportunities, you should feel confident enough about starting up a new website!
For example, you can
Fear #3: I Don’t Know Where To Start
If you’re struggling with the fear that you don’t know where to start, then look at your interests. What is one thing about blogging that excites you? For instance, maybe it’s creating an online income so that others can be successful too, or perhaps just sharing what you love and making money while doing it?!
Whatever your reason may be for becoming a blogger, write these reasons as they will help keep up motivated throughout the process.
Also, take the time to learn about starting a blog. There are many mistakes that can be made. So learning so much as you can before starting can help you avoid these mistakes.
Fear #4: Having Too Much Ideas
If you find your niche is just too saturated, or if you’re struggling with being overwhelmed by ideas, then it may be time to narrow things down. Finding a focus for your blog can help give readers an idea of what they are getting into when visiting your website, so consider this before committing yourself to blogging in one specific area.
What I advise you to do is to write all the content ideas that you may have. If you love writing physically, then get a pen and paper. If you want to access all of your content wherever you go, then I recommend your Notes app, Trello, ClickUp or Asana. I prefer ClickUp because it offers a wide variety of functions on its free platform. This also includes a mind map, which I use for blog post ideas creation.
After you have created all of your blog post ideas, then try to group them into clusters that you can link to one pillar page. For example, let’s say your niche is crocheting. You can write a large pillar post about the art of crocheting. Then, you can link different cluster posts to it, such as crocheting vs knitting: what’s the difference.
All in all, don’t look at having many blog topic ideas as a terrible thing. Rather, look at it as a blessing and sign that there are different posts and questions you can answer. Therefore, many ways to grow your online blog business.
Fear #5: Not Knowing How To Set Up My Blog
One way to overcome the fear of not knowing how to set up my blog – is taking advantage of video tutorials such as those found on YouTube! This will allow you the chance to learn about all the technical aspects involved in creating and designing your own blog.
Fear #6: Not confident in my skills or knowledge
If you’re struggling with the fear that you aren’t confident in your skills or knowledge, then consider taking online courses. For instance, I took a blogging course at Udemy on how to start a blog and share my ideas while also making money doing so!
Udemy has a substantial amount of online courses in an array of niches, such as copywriting, blogging, creating digital products, how to create a profitable online business. I advise you to look at what they offer, especially during their massive sales!
Fear #7: Feeling Small
If you’re struggling with the fear of feeling small, then consider joining blogging groups or forums where like-minded individuals can gather and discuss ideas. By having this sense of community behind you. It will help make your blog feel more successful and supportive while also encouraging others to learn from their own mistakes too!
You can also start a discussion or answer pressing questions from people on large forums on Quora. Not only will you feel more confident, especially when your content is helping others, but this is a great way to build authority by generating backlinks.
Fear # 8: Fear of Guest Posting
Guest posting is one way to help grow your own blog by gaining exposure from the success of others. However, it can also be a fear that keeps people from taking advantage of this opportunity!
If you’re struggling with guest-posting or even finding opportunities yourself, then consider using Google and searching for keywords such as “guest post” + your niche in order to find other top bloggers who may be willing to accept posts on their website.
Then carry out some research on the topics that they offer and see if you can offer a unique view of a certain topic. Create an outline explaining everything that you’ll include in the post, including your writing voice, style, and point of view. If they send any feedback, adjust the outline and send the full blog post.
On the other hand, if they decline, learn from this by modifying the post for the better, then trying other websites that may be interested in your post.
